The Alliance Management (AM) group sits within BioPharma Clinical Operations and is accountable for setting the sourcing strategy across R&D and managing our suppliers to ensure that they deliver what the organisations need; and develop strong, beneficial partnerships with key suppliers.

What you’ll do_**

As a Director, Business Planning and Operations (BPO), you will be a member of the Alliance Management (AM) leadership team partnering closely with the Head of AM, the leadership team and others across AM to drive critical aspects of the function enabling innovation, continuous improvement and compliance across activities and business processes to optimise functional performance.

You will be instrumental in strategic planning and operational execution of the functional strategy by leading various business planning & operational activities including:

- manage the business performance of AM including scorecard development, metrics and reporting, functional risk & issues, capacity & budget;
- manage and facilitate the AM leadership team agendas and meetings, driving increased meeting efficiency;
- ensure a robust communication strategy in place to optimise communications & engagement within & external to AM

You will serve as a representative for AM in the broader BioPharma BPO community, represent the functional head on various forums and must collaborate across BioPharma Clinical Operations and other internal stakeholders to build strong relationships across AZ.

**Essential Criteria**
- University degree (or equivalent experience)
- Knowledge of clinical trial processes and pharmaceutical drug development process, conducted internally, or through vendor partnerships, at various phases of development.
- Extensive knowledge in project management skills, specifically leading cross functional teams
- Experience working with Senior-level partners
- Strong strategic influencing and interpersonal skills including negotiation, facilitation and collaboration
- Leadership skills, including the ability to troubleshoot problems that involve multiple decision makers, to build relationships, and to develop solutions
- Extensive networking skills, ability to interact widely and effectively both internally and externally
- Ability to work across global & functional boundaries both internally and externally
