The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. - Barcelona**What We Are Looking for**:
ISGlobal is seeking a Research Technician who is interested in taking over and managing activities of the project Plan Viladecans 3-30-300 on urban re-naturalization in a municipality of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. The overall project goal is to improve the connectivity and biodiversity of the green infrastructure, the resilience of the municipality in the face of climate change, and the health and well-being of its inhabitants, contributing to the achievement of the 3-30-300 green space rule. All this under the basis of a collaborative and equitable governance.

The Research Technician, will be working closely with the tasks leader and coordinator. The Research Technician and will give support through diverse activities across a citizen-science process, including the research project design, the environmental and health monitoring and statistical analysis, to evaluate the re-naturalization of a public space for a more resilient, healthy and sustainable neighbourhood.

The project will be developed between the Climate Change, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health program, and the Scientific Culture Unit (UCC+i).

The Climate Change, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health program aims to strengthen the evidence base in the field of the health effects of climate change and urban exposures, and assess the health co-benefits of climate action. The ultimate objective is to support healthy (urban) living, and forecast and mitigate the health impacts of climate change.
The ISGlobal's Scientific Culture Unit (UCC+i) promotes access to scientific knowledge and social interest in science through science outreach and education, participation and citizen science around our institution's scientific research. Using formal and non-formal methods, it works to ensure a bridge between research and society and to promote an active role for citizens in the generation of knowledge.

**TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE /QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Undergraduate degree in environmental, biological sciences is preferred
- Experience (at least 1 year) in developing fieldwork, fieldwork coordination support, data collection and descriptive analysis
- Experience with questionnaires administration
- Experience with systematic observation tools, participatory process and qualitative methods will be an asset

**SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS**:

- Flexibility
- Good level of Spanish, Catalan and English are required
- Quantitative data management and analysis skills are highly valued
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Support all aspects of the research project
- Work with the project coordinator to ensure timely accomplishment of project´s objectives and deliverables

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:

- Assist in organizing workshops with citizens
- Assist in monitoring environmental and health data
- Assist in data analysis and presentation
- Assist in literature searches and compilation of reports
- Participate in the writing of the project results report
- Participate in drafting scientific manuscripts
- Assist in the design and preparation of presentations
- Provide general administrative support to including scheduling and preparation of events and meetings
- Attend meetings with project partners including taking of meeting minutes
- Other duties as assigned
