**Testing Operation Manager - West Mediterranean**
**Main purpose**:
The Testing Operation Manager (TOM) leads testing operations in alignment with current and future EMEA breeding and testing strategies.
He/she is responsible for managing field trials in Western Mediterranean region, and to deliver high quality data for development of corn commercial seeds products and solutions. The TOM is also responsible for leading and developing a team of testing associates/assistants and oversees people hiring and development and finance management (OpEx and CapEx).
**Key responsabilites**:
- Leads and develops a team of Research Associates and Assistants across the region.
- Responsible for permanent and temporary staff hiring, development, training and supervision.
- Coordinates planting, field management, data collection and harvest operations of corn trials in alignment with Breeding objectives.
- Ensures employee safety and compliance culture, fulfilling HSE procedures and legal requirements for freedom to operate.
- Maintenance, improvement and acquisition of equipment for effective and efficient functioning of Corn testing program, interfacing with appropriate equipment and supply providers
- Plans and controls annual Operating and Capital financial expenditures.
- Develop new operation standards under continuous improvement and quality management aspects, through collaboration and benchmarking.
- Tests, validates, trains and document information about new field management and phenotyping technologies to increase the efficiency and quality of research station
- Leads cross-functional initiatives, supporting the validation and deployment of technologies/methods for improving testing outcomes.

**Qualifactions & Competencies**
- MS in Agronomy or related field with at least 3 years of agricultural research experience
- People leadership acumen and/or previous experience
- Solid background in agronomy and crop management
- Knowledge of statistics and experimental design/methods
- Advanced computer proficiency (MS office, BI software)
- Excellent results orientation and planning skills
- Strong interpersonal & relationship skills
- Willingness to travel (50%) including overnight and week-trips.
- Knowledge in data science and coding (Python, R) is a plus
- Professional fluency in English. Spanish and/or French desirable are not mandatory but considered a plus.
