**Job Summary**
MycoWorks is seeking a person to fill the role of a Downstream Process Development Manager. This person will be responsible for the development of the MycoWorks' Reishi tanning and finishing process to deliver a quality product. This individual will own the creation of a reliable process that delivers the desired product(s) specs via design of experiment execution, technology transfer to operations, and cross collaborative work with the upstream development team(s).
Critical focus areas for the Manager will be process understanding and development, team formation and deliverable creation to delivery, design of experiment creation and reporting, and technology transfer to operations for standard work development
This role interacts heavily with multiple internal and external organizations, including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Tannery Partners and Operations. The role reports to the Senior Manager, Downstream Process Development. This role will require some travel within Europe and the United States.
**Responsibilities**:
- Designing experiments for process and product development based on the product plan direction
- Taking experiments from design to execution to analysis and reporting results
- Working in line with the product development plan and providing insight and feedback to the plan for iterative improvement
- Ensuring process information is transferred to the operations team via standard creation and/ or updates, on floor training, and in process checks
- Development of deliverables for process development team
- Tracking appropriate development key performance indicators
- Training and coaching process development team members on design of experiment work
- Managing process development team on work plans and deliverables
- Overseeing integration of MycoWorks' process development work with current and future tannery partners
- Development of process understanding in order to create a product that meets specs in a reliable and consistent manner
**Qualifications**:
- BS in Leather Technology, Leather Science, or a similar field
- 8-12 years' experience in the leather tanning industry or similar field
- 4+ years' management experience
- Proficient in cross functional team and individual work
- Ability to manage self and team, develop deliverables with timelines, and delegate work to reach due dates
- Proficiency in coaching and mentoring team members for professional and personal development
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data reporting
- Verbal and written communication, fluent in English
- Experience with operations and production lines
- Proficient in developing product and process development plans and designing experiments to deliver on strategic plans
- Competency in technology transfer to operations
- Must be able to travel internationally up to 25%
