**Context And Mission**
- The Computational Biology group, led by ICREA professor Alfonso Valencia, is looking for a Master's student to work on the development of computational tools for the analysis of single-cell sequencing data from a systems biology perspective, integrating methods that quantify the activity of different categories of molecular pathways.

**Key Duties**
- Understand how to derived cell-type specific molecular profiles from single-cell sequencing data
- Evaluate different modelling methods to quantify signalling, metabolic and gene regulatory pathways
- Integrate different molecular pathwasy by using graph theory and multilayer networks
- Collaborate in the preparation and presentation of research projects.
- Participate in internal group meetings and other scientific discussions.

**Requirements**:

- Education
- Degree in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Bioinformatics or any field related to engineering
- Enrolled in a Master in Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Bioinformatics or any field related to engineering
- Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Good programming skills (R / Python)
- Knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments
- Experience in data analysis and data integration
- Ability to access and evaluate scientific literature
- Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
- Knowledge and experience in life sciences research
- Knowledge and experience in AI methodologies.
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Competences
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team

**Conditions**
- The position will be located at BSC within the Life Sciences Department
- We offer a part-time contract (22.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
- Duration: linked to the educational agreement
