We are a leading international dance school based in Barcelona, offering full-time/part-time and pre-professional training in classical, contemporary, and modern dance. Our diverse student body and Professors come from all over the world. We are now seeking a creative and strategic Press and Communications Officer to help share our story, grow our audience, and strengthen our reputation locally and internationally. As Press and Communications Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the school’s external communications strategy into success. You’ll manage press relations, create compelling content, and support marketing initiatives across digital and print platforms.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute communication strategies to promote and recruit for the school’s programs, performances, and events
- Build and maintain relationships with local, national, and international media
- Write and distribute recruitment opportunities, press releases, news articles, and newsletters
- Manage oversee social media channels and content creation (in coordination with marketing/design team)
- Coordinate media coverage, press attendance, and interviews for major performances or milestones
- Update website content (news, blog, press pages, bios, etc.) for student recruitment
- Collaborate with the artistic team to capture and tell authentic stories about our students, visiting artists and professors
- Monitor press coverage, prepare media reports, and evaluate communication impact
**Requirements**:
- Strong writing and editing skills in English, Spanish, Catalan (native or fluent level)
- Previous experience in PR, journalism, communications, or content marketing (2+ years preferred)
- Confident working with stakeholders, partners, university and NGOs; able to pitch stories effectively for recruitment
- Familiarity with dance, arts, culture, and/or performing arts is a strong plusSocial media and digital communication knowledge - attracting audiences for student recruitment
- Well-organised, proactive, and able to meet deadlines independently
- Right to work in Spain or EU
**Desirable**
- Working knowledge of English, Spanish, and Catalan
- Experience in a creative or educational environment (dance, theatre, music, etc.)
- Knowledge of SEO, basic design tools (Canva, Adobe), or website CMS (WordPress, Square space)
**Essential**
Languages: Fluent **English** required; Fluent **Spanish** and **Catalan** highly valued
