Senior Manager, UX/UI

The Role

The Senior Manager of User Experience will be responsible for crafting compelling user experiences that set our products apart and deliver intuitive solutions for our users. This leader will guide and lead a team of User Experience (UX) Designers and Design Researchers to deliver best-in-class solutions across our entire product portfolio.

This position collaborates closely with product management, engineering, sales, and product marketing to build solutions and product workflows that provide excellent user experiences for our customers. In addition to being a leader within the Solera organization, the Senior Manager of User Experience maintains close relationships with Product Managers, Sales, and other Business leaders to understand business challenges, perform needed research and usability testing, and influence the end product.

What You’ll Do

Responsible and accountable for driving a user-centered mentality across the entire organization and ensuring that our overall product experience is best-in-class:

- Strategy: Build, drive, and execute on a UX vision aligned with the overall Solera strategy.
- Overall UX: Use customer data and insights as the primary method of understanding how Solera customers are leveraging our solutions, to improve user outcomes.
- Design leadership:

- Direct and curate the design system
- Focused on outcomes not artifacts - best-in-class products, designed for user efficiency

- usability testing, focused on real world customer scenarios

- Ability to quickly build meaningful, trusted relationships with the design team, and the broader organization.
- Team management: Manage diverse creative team across an equally diverse product portfolios - develop a team of creative personnel capable of all facets of design: information architecture, interaction design, visual design, responsive web and native mobile, and UX research methodologies.
- Team: Build a world class team of UX professionals - clearly understand strengths of team and organize team to maximize our efficiency. Coach, develop, mentor existing staff to new career levels and recruit/retain great talent.
- Presentation: User Experience Evangelist - lead presenter of the team’s offering to both internal and external audiences, including stakeholders, customers, and channel partners.
- Collaboration: Drive participation of UX into the SDLC into the organization by partnering with Product Management, Development, Marketing, and Customer Success to envision and build innovative products and experiences.
- Customer advocate: Be the voice of our users by providing empathy and inspiration to the teams building out the product experience.
- Market Analysis: Ensure understand our user experience differences between our competitors and that our solution is more intuitive, usable, and efficient than our competitors.
- Project Management: Manage the UX project lifecycle. Ensure team is focused on impactful projects that are aligned with business. Manage team capacity and set clear roadmap expectations with stakeholders. Leverage talents and expertise to improve team efficiency.

What You’ll Bring

Skills & Requirements
- Portfolio: Must have portfolio that can be reviewed during interview.
- Strategy: Background with understanding business strategy, technical capabilities to translate into a UX vision and execution plan.
- Customer: Experienced in leveraging all customer information (personas, usage analytics, customer feedback/interviews, etc.) to base the foundation on UX solutions.
- Design Fundamentals: Experience with all UX disciplines including research, information architecture, Interaction Design, Visual Design.
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography & limitations of the web; must possess experience in storyboarding and translating ideas to designers.
- A strong working knowledge of experience design, brand development, interactive commerce, and creative processes that scale.
- Design system: Must possess a thorough understanding of developing a design system, leveraging industry best practices, integrating into the design process and front-end development to drive scale, efficiency, and consistency.
- Research: Experience leading, participating in various UX research methodologies (e.g., usability testing, remote testing, heuristic evaluation, design thinking workshops, in-person/on-site etc.) and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
- Web/app: Strong hands-on background in mobile apps, web apps, and touch design.
- Technical Acumen: Cursory understanding of modern web technologies and developmental methodologies.
- Managing/Agile: Background managing designers and researchers inside an Agile team and processes.
