At Vivara, a vibrant and independent startup in Barcelona, we are on the lookout for a Head if Engineering to join our incredible team. Backed by GCO, Vivara is all set to transform the rental management industry and bring a wave of confidence and ease to the housing rental game. As a Head of Engineering, your role will be instrumental in shaping Vivara's unique ecosystem, dexterously navigating the world of apartment hunting, and making perfect matches between landlords and tenants. With a strong focus on tailoring our approach to individual needs, we are determined to create a delightful rental experience for everyone and become the preferred choice in the premium rental market.
**You will create a technical product roadmap and define the strategic vision for your team, aligning it with the key stakeholders and company goals. With strong technical and leadership experience, you will own and orchestrate the product delivery, taking care of the long-term product success from a technological point of view.**
**Responsibilities**:
- Spearhead the technical vision, ensuring its harmonious integration with the overall business strategy
- Recruit and onboard your engineering team, hiring for top talent to enhance our team’s capabilities
- Cultivate a culture of ownership, collaboration, proactive problem solving, continuous improvement and innovation
- Formulate and execute strategic plans to align engineering goals seamlessly with the broader organizational objectives
- Contribute to strategic planning and execution, optimizing our technology stack for heightened efficiency and performance
- Proactively identify and address security risks, playing a vital role in risk mitigation and threat management
- Immerse the team in an ownership culture that prioritizes seamless integration, code quality, and DevOps and cybersecurity best practices
**Requirements**:
- Proven technical leadership with hands-on development expertise
- Mastery of our tech stack (or equivalent languages), including Flutter, Nest.js, Azure Cloud, GitHub, Docker, Firebase, Linear
- Demonstrated proficiency in implementing DevOps practices and robust cybersecurity measures
- Skilled in crafting testable, reusable, high-quality code and fostering these capabilities in team members
- Startup and agile organization experience, particularly in platform building and collaboration within cross-functional digital teams
- In-depth understanding of the product lifecycle, adept at concept sprints, build and release cycles, and enhancing product features
- Awareness of non-technical audiences, effectively engaging them in technical decision-making Fluency in both Spanish and English, facilitating effective communication across diverse teams
