We are actively looking for a **Laboratory Manager - Maintenance Of Business** for our laboratory based in Barcelona (packaging coatings).
In this role you will primarily have to efficiently assist the business by providing in depth and reliable technical support to our internal and external customers using commercial products. This position is also accountable for managing the timely improvement of products/processes in support of business goals and objectives.
**Main Tasks**:
- Resolve internal and external technical problems in a timely manner.
- Maintain safe operating procedures through complete knowledge of safety rules and lab procedures.
- Develop relationships with key people in the field; establish and maintain productive working relationships with other departments.
- Make presentations to marketing and technical organizations.
- Provide interactive support to other groups and advise key stakeholders of project progress and plans
- Follows standards for excellence; takes responsibility to ensure consistent high standard of working.
- Supports and leads continuous improvement activities.
- Assures project completion according to parameters & monitor ROI and projects/programs.
- Coordinates project activity with pertinent departments
- Manages employee performance, by setting clear expectations, coaching for success, addressing performance concerns and holding them accountable.
- Responsible for accurate and timely recording of results and distribution of reports.
- Communicates with internal and external parties regarding progress and direction.
- Ensures projects are brought to closure.
- Development and implementation of new products/processes to improve quality and/or reduce costs.
- Effective development and implementation of an operating strategy in support of both short
- and long-term business objectives.
- Getting knowledge on a complicated portfolio and learning specificities of customer.
**Profile**:
- Master degree in Chemistry or other Scientific disciplines,
- Proven previous experience in management,
- Coatings industry experience is a must,
- Familiarity/experience with Continuous Improvement processes/techniques such as 6-sigma certified, lean, transactional lean, and root cause analysis.
- Able to communicate/interface effectively with people from different departments and levels.
- Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills. Ability to help team members to grow up.
- Flexibility to travel, regular necessity to visit customers (EMEAI).
- Spanish and English.
