**The role**

The Accounting Officer will join the Accounting Area Team, within the Finance Department.

Account Officers work with other professionals in the accounting department like Account Clerks to make sure the Institute’s finances are accurately recorded.

Main duties are:

- Carry out book-keeping: General Ledger maintenance and balance subsidiaries. Record financial transactions. Conduct reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy. Support to ERP monthly closing.
- Record cash receipts and monitor bank deposits. Prepare Average Payment Period.
- Comply with local government reporting requirements. (Taxes and related such as intrastat, VAT, IRPF, IS, Donations, etc.) and manage tax inspections.
- Calculate and issue yearly Financial Statements. Assemble information for external auditors for the annual audit.
- Resolve consultations, travel expenses reimbursement, certificates issuance. Collaborates within Finance Department, providing relevant data for annual audit and other reports.

The mission of the Finance Department aims to provide effective planning, management and control of the

CRG’s financial resources.

The Finance Department provides timely, accurate and reliable financial information and administers

responsive procurement services to researchers, while ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting

assets.

**Who would we like to **hire?**

**Must Have**
- At least 4 years of proven working experience in administrative tasks
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax laws. Solid experience in tax preparation
- Numerical and Analytical Skills
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records

**Desirable but not required/ Nice to **have**
- Experience with ERP Systems (Oracle, SAP, etc)

**Education and training**
- You hold a bachelor's degree in economics or equivalent. Other educations will be considered if experience in procurement is supported

**Languages**
- You are proficient in Spanish and Catalan
- You have a medium level of English

**Technical skills**
- Numerical and analytical skills
- MS Office. Excellent command in excel
- Deep knowledge of accounting and tax regulations
- ERP experience
- Clerical abilities
