Auxiliary Support for The Vascular Risk Unit

**IDIBELL is looking for an Auxiliary Support for the Vascular Risk Unit (Internal Medicine).**

**About the Unit**

Our research team, led by Dr. Xavier Pintó, Head of the Vascular Risk Unit of the Internal Medicine Service of Bellvitge University Hospital and professor at the School of Medicine at the University of Barcelona (UB). Our group was founded more than 25 years ago and is included in the Research Groups of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), linked to the Bellvitge University Hospital. Our group is also integrated in the Center for Biomedical Research in Network of the Physiopathology of Obesity and Nutrition dependent on the Carlos III Health Institute (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness).

Our general objective is to study the determinants of dyslipidemia, high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.

The main lines of research of our group are:

- Study of cardiovascular risk factors and alterations in lipid metabolism in patients with cerebrovascular, coronary and lower limb diseases
- Study of the relationship of cholesterol and triglyceride metabolism with Cardiovascular disease.
- Study of the relationship between the composition and functionality of HDL with coronary heart disease.
- Genetic basis of hypertriglyceridemia
- The PREDIMED-PLUS study, a randomized trial on lifestyle intervention for the primary prevention of cardiovascular diseases and other degenerative disorders through weight loss achieved with Mediterranean diet, caloric restriction and physical activity. This study includes patients with type 2 diabetes or metabolic syndrome.
- Relationship between Mediterranean dietary patterns and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
- Epidemiology, metabolism and therapy of Hyperlipoproteinemia(a) in cardiovascular prevention
**About the role**
- Collaboration as a nurse in clinical trials
- Enter patient data in data bases
- Statistical analysis of clinical data
- Discussion of the clinical trial results
**Professional experience**
- Have extensive experience in blood extraction, handling of biological samples (centrifugation, conservation,...)
- Have experience in measurement of anthropometric data and health education.
- Have collaborated in a Unit specialized in Cardiovascular prevention and lipid metabolism.
- Have collaborated in clinical trials of Nutrition, Cardiovascular Risk Factors, and Lipid Metabolism,.
- Have entered research data into databases

**Education and training**
- Diploma / graduate in nursing
**Technical skills**
- SAP domains
- Advanced knowledge of Statistics

**Languages**
- Good command of the English, Catalan and Spanish languages

IDIBELL is a research center that integrates the biomedical research of the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB), the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), and the University of Barcelona in the Bellvitge Campus (UB), and the Viladecans Hospital (HV).
