EIT Urban Mobility has a primary goal to catalyse cities, regions and public authorities (“Leading Cities”) to define, co-develop and adopt innovative solutions that will help them achieve their goals towards more sustainable mobility (e.g., reduce emissions, increase active mobility, etc.) by tackling their main challenges.

We have several levers that we use to achieve this goal, including: 1) bringing together Leading Cities and industry and academic partners (SMEs, companies, start-ups, universities and research centers) to forge productive public-private collaborations; 2) activating city-to-city exchange and capacity building, and 3) enabling the testing, replication and adoption of impactful projects in urban environments across the EU.

These activities are supported both, by our own funding and training programmes, pursuing external funding and financing mechanisms (e.g., from EU, national, regional and philanthropic sources), and also by developing meaningful avenues for exchange, learning and collaboration. EIT Urban Mobility is an organization with a network of more than 250 partners (public, private and research entities) as well as collaborations with more than 1,100 many key institutions across Europe.

**The City Development and Funding Officer** will have the foundational role to activate Leading Cities and public transport partners as part of our community
- both by supporting existing partners as well as expanding to new
partners. The work will be focused in the geographic region for Innovation Hub South: Albania, France, Greece, North Macedonia, Portugal and Spain.

The City Development and Funding officer will, as a key account manager for public sector partners, build relationships and act as a trusted advisor for cities, regions and other public authorities within the region to navigate the complexities and opportunities of the innovation ecosystem.

As part of this role, the City Development and Funding Officer will also be tasked with identifying and supporting EIT Urban Mobility in benefitting from local, regional, national, and private funding opportunities related to urban mobility (Net Zero Cities, CCAM, Last-mile Logistics, Digital Technologies and Smart Cities, etc) for Leading Cities, as well as other network partners (industry, academia, SMEs, etc.).

The City Development and Funding Officer position is based in Barcelona, and will report, respectively, to the Head of Innovation Hub South, in daily reporting; and to the Head of City Partnership for operational functions.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Relationship management of existing EIT Urban Mobility city and public transport partners to maximize the value of membership offering.
- Recruitment of new
public
partners to expand the reach of our network - mapping and identifying relevant cities and municipalities in the Innovation HUB South geography.
- Identifying the priorities, challenges and opportunities of the public partners within the region and moving forward strategic opportunities to deliver value to them. This by working within the hub and cross-functionally with the rest of the hubs and areas. For instance, by matchmaking public partners needs with existent solutions, or experienced cities to share learnings or fostering consortia for an innovation call.
- Analysing funding cycles and work programmes and tracking upcoming calls linked to mobility on regional level relevant to the IHS partners. And identifying and supporting the development of funding proposals to bring the projects to fruition.
- Establish and keep relationships with relevant member states and their stakeholders, plus regions to generate synergies regarding EIT Urban Mobility activities in the IH South regions.
