The Senior Manager, Cross-Border (XB) Lead, Southern Europe will be a key function leader for the cluster, representing Visa’s Global Cross-Border business unit. The individual will have the overall responsibility of supporting growth of Cross-Border business in the cluster, both in-bound (acquired) from other markets as well as out-bound (issued) to other markets. The Cross
- Border team utilizes and coordinates data analytics, strategy, marketing, products, acceptance and sales know-how and assets in Visa to help grow the business, which is a key driver for Visa revenues. The individual needs to be a strong leader proficient in building an effective strategy, able to expertly translate strategy into tactical execution, and adept at collaborating and building support of cross functional teams, inside and outside the cluster. The individual needs to be comfortable with and adept at driving outcomes with ‘indirect’ influence and accountabilities.
**Key Responsibilities**
- ** Own the responsibility for Cross-Border performance in the cluster** by focusing on achieving Cross-Border business targets, both in-bound (acquired) from other markets as well as out-bound (issued) to other markets, and related ones like Cross-Border auth rates.
- ** Lead & champion the development of Cross-Border strategy for the cluster**, which changes the trajectory of growth, evolves our client relationships, and breaks through the constraints to generate tangible impact on Visa’s Cross-Border performance in the cluster.
- ** Drive, and enable at scale the execution of Cross-Border strategy in the cluster**, with targeted business development and deal-making, enhancing partnerships with existing clients, consumer marketing, solutions development and innovation, putting together business cases, and supporting RFPs critical for the XB business.
- ** Cross-collaborate across several functions and lead/orchestrate initiatives, **including but not limited to Client Engagement, Merchant Sales and Acquiring, Marketing, Products, Visa Government Solutions as well as cross-cluster and cross-regional business counterparts.
- ** Identify success factors for Cross-Border business growth**, develop tactical plans to achieve defined goals, design effective client relationship and business development strategies and work with respective account teams in implementing those strategies.
- ** Understand Cross-Border trends**, anticipate and periodically report opportunities and challenges, and take proactive measures to accomplish targets.
- ** Develop recommendations **based on rigorous, fact based, quantitative analysis. Communicate recommendations to in a clear, concise, and impactful way, utilizing the latest technological tools available
- ** Represent Visa in client discussions and external forums as the XB SME**, in partnership with the respective account teams. Speak at conferences and business forums on the topic of Cross-Border to build awareness and create partnerships
- ** Model collaboration and influence across functions and geographies** while executing on corridor-level strategy and actions, with a constant focus on driving strong Cross-Border results for the broader organization.
- ** Act as a senior thought leader **in the business development team, constantly identifying opportunities for internal and external collaboration to drive business growth.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
**Qualifications**
- Relevant business experience, including leadership experience in highly successful businesses that have a strong track record of client service, strategic development and execution.
- Experience in banking, financial services, or Technology / Fintech sector. Strong knowledge of payment industry products, services and technologies, eCommerce, mobile technology and Cross-Border business is a plus.
- A proven track record of delivering high impact results working on projects in the areas of corporate strategy, growth initiatives and new market/segment/business strategies
