Research Support Technician

**IDIBELL is looking for a Research Support Technician for the Prostate Cancer group**

**About the research group**

Dr. Aytes’ research exploits genetically engineered mouse prostate cancer models to uncover mechanisms of progressión towards advanced, therapy resistant prostate cancer. The group uses computational approaches for cross-species analysis of phenotypic and preclinical data from a range of high-throughput molecular profiling. Of particular interest is the role of the epigenetically modulated changes in gene regulatory programs in therapy resistance. The lab is also interested in identifying molecular biomarkers for patients stratification and to predict responses to standard of care and experimental therapies. Finally the lab is also heavily invested in identifying new targets through synthetic lethal interactions with AR signaling inhibitors and other approved drugs using CRISPR/Cas screening in vitro and in vivo.

**Job requirements**

Professional experience
- Not required but will be appreciated experience in biomedical research, mouse models handling, and cell culture

Education and training
- CFGM
- Not required but will be appreciated a master degree finished or ongoing in Life Sciences, including but not limited to Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedicine, Veterinary, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering...
- Not required but will be appreciated some training in cancer biology and/or bioinformatics

Not required but will be appreciated these technical skills
- Cell culture including functional assays, viral vector production, purification, and delivery
- Basic molecular biology approaches such as PCR, qPCR, and WB
- Histology including mouse tissue harvesting, processing, and basic pathology stainings
- Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence

Languages
- Basic command of the English language, but will be appreciated a good one

**We will value, but not required**
- Experience in NGS library preparation
- Non-life sciences backgrounds such us math or physics with programming skills and bioinformatics training are highly encouraged will be surely considered
