**Your work environment**:
We are now looking to recruit a **Process Improvement Engineer Automation & Control - Conveying and Packing** within our Process Improvement Engineering & Training Team in the Central Production Engineering Department (PED) Bevcan EMEA. The role could be based at our centre in Wantage (UK) or preferably at one of our plant’s locations in EMEA. The scope of the role is to support the 14 manufacturing locations in Europe (UK, France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Greece, Poland and Turkey) and 5 in MEA (UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia). You will be also involved in project work at new greenfield sites and newly acquired manufacturing locations.

**Your mission in Crown**:
Join us and participate in all the improvement activities of electromechanical and conveying activities of the Automation & Control areas in order to improve all standards of the manufacturing processes in terms of quality, cost and efficiency. The scope of this role will cover existing and new production lines post-commissioning to facilitate quick and efficient ramping-up through advanced skills development at an operational level.

The improvement activities will mainly relate to manufacturing processes optimisation, technical and operational support/advice/coaching and training for the 19 production sites in the EMEA region.

Primary areas of activity and responsibility will include will include cup & can handling, palletisers, strappers, wrappers, pallet conveying, labelling and other associated equipment.
You primarily provide plant operational support for conveying, packing equipment and associated packing materials.
You support in maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting, implementing best practices and follow-up with issues and improvement projects. You realise line operation and technical audits and propose improvements opportunities through respective projects.
You promote the development of SOP’s, Best Practices and Cost Reduction Programmes for regular operation and changeover conditions. You deliver classroom and hands-on the job training in conveying and packaging equipment.
You take part in the Lean Manufacturing and Sustainability strategy of the Group towards materials’ consumption reduction and process waste removal by supporting any new materials’ trials and process-challenging activities.
You liaise with CROWN Technology on equipment, tooling, materials and process improvements and standardisation of specifications. You pass on the local Plant Teams new technologies and operational standards and you act as an ambassador of the Company’s operational culture towards the main manufacturing-related KPIs.

A self-starter, you operate with a logical approach, with a focused attention to detail and you demonstrate high levels of problem-solving skill. You have strong leadership, effective decision-making and interpersonal skills. You are able to demonstrate an ability to communicate at all levels and you are computer literate. You are flexible to travel at short notice including extended periods away from base, with the willingness to adapt to different cultures and circumstances.
