Responsible for development and continuous improvement of product specific requirements and qualification of the business. Contributes to continuous improvement of quality performance through leading and participation in networks, development of Subject Matter Experts and working closely together with other functions including Nutreco Competency Centre, Supply Chain, Procurement and Marketing & Sales. Responsible for effective quality organisation and communication that drives the quality culture in which quality is a responsibility of us all.

Job Description:

JOB CONTEXT
The Global Quality Manager is positioned at Nutreco level with a direct reporting line to the Global Quality Director Nutreco. He/she is an experienced professional in Quality Management and in Nutrace specifically and the frontrunner for the total Quality Community. The Global Quality manager has high level expertise in key areas of Feed/Food Safety and Quality (FSQ), is able to develop effective and fit for purpose global FSQ standards and processes, understands business context to set the right priorities, makes full use of IT solutions to manage quality effectively, and is an advanced leader, trainer, communicator and inspirator to Nutreco in creating a quality culture that makes quality a responsibility of all.
The BU Quality Manager is positioned at the Business Unit level with a direct reporting line to the Business Unit Managing Director and a functional line to the Global Quality Director Nutreco. The BU Quality Manager is a seasoned expert with strong leadership skills, understanding of regulations and quality management, and shows effective communication. He/she supports the BU in implementation of, and continuous compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations and ensures a capable quality organisation. Works closely together with other functions to measure and continuously improve quality performance while achieving business profitability.
The Regional/OpCo Quality Manager is positioned at regional level with a direct reporting line to the General Manager or the BU Quality manager. He/she is responsible for the local quality management systems in the region that are needed to meet all internal and external quality & feed safety requirements. Is an expert in Quality Management and Food to Feed Safety with good communication and training skills needed to create a quality culture in the region where people of all disciplines understand their role in quality performance. He/she is the primary point of contact for certification bodies and feed regulatory authorities and works with marketing and sales in customer interaction and satisfaction.
The level and seniority of the position relates to place in organisation and size/complexity of the organisational scope. Can lead a team of Quality specialists/officers. Can be responsible for Laboratory that performs quality control.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Strategy

• Development and implementation of Quality strategy and culture (global, BU or regional).

• Development and execution of quality plan (global, BU or regional) using strategy, business priorities and trends & developments as input.
Quality Management - Nutrace

• Development, continuous improvement and implementation of the policy, standards, and processes that together ensure compliance with internal and regulatory requirements, industry standards, and customer expectations for the safety, quality, and integrity of animal feed and food products

• Development, continuous improvement and implementation of product specific requirements including qualification of the business.

• Development of training materials and execute training related to quality management.

• Continuously improve communication and create awareness about Nutrace quality management internally and externally promoting "quality feeds value".
Feed to food safety and quality (FSQ) expertise and support

• Follow trends and upcoming issues regarding FSQ and that these are known in Nutreco and where relevant incorporated in Nutrace.

• Engage with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and certification bodies - stay updated on industry best practices and standards.

• Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with external partners to leverage expertise and drive industry-wide quality improvements.

• Development and continuous improvement in FSQ capabilities that ensure state of the art expertise in FSQ and Nutrace and allow expert support in projects (including in Supply Chain and Innovation)

• Expert support in projects and in case of incidents and crisis.

• Collaboration with GRRA to maintain a knowledge base on regulation in the total quality community in Nutreco.
Quality Performance

• Continuous improvement of quality performance through leading and participation in networks, development of Subject Matter Experts and working closely together with other functions including Nutreco Competency Center, Supply Chain, Procurement and Marketing & Sales.

• Development and continuous improvement of key performance indicators and dashboards that provide insight in quality performance in Nutreco.

• Conduct Nutrace compliance and effectiveness assessments and closure of gaps

• Assure that monitoring plans are in place and executed, that QC and quality data are analyzed as input for release decision and to identify trends and risks (and develop and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary).

• Verify that all analytical services are provided in time and with the required quality, in accordance with the organization guidelines and relevant standards and schemes.
Regulatory Affairs and Product Registrations

• Assure compliance with applicable food/feed safety legislation by ensuring any regulatory change is implemented, in close collaboration with Nutreco Regulatory Affairs and/or local food/feed safety authorities.

• Support product registration through development and maintenance of product/site related documentation.
Organisation

• Development and implementation of effective Quality organization (global, BU or regional)

• Manager of laboratory, manager of quality team – responsible for performance management and effective team

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Depending on scope and place in organisation:

• Preferred bachelor's or master's degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or a related field

• Several years of relevant experience, preferably in quality roles in supply chain.

• Knowledge of food and feed safety regulations.

• Knowledge of quality management systems and certification schemes.

• Project management skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a (multifunctional) team.

• Attention to detail and ability to analyse data.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• English, fluent proficiency in verbal and written.

• Experience is working in IT solutions to manage quality processes (e.g. EcoOnline, 1QM, LIMS) and establish dashboards (e.g. PowerBI)

• Leadership skills and organisational awareness

• Performance management skills (leading teams)
