doctor in economics (senior researcher and deputy to the program head) An esteemed public research institution is currently in search of a qualified individual to join its premier center in the field of agro-food economy: DOCTOR IN ECONOMICS (Senior Researcher and Deputy to the Program Head) The appointed individual will assume the responsibility of spearheading and overseeing the scientific and technical execution of R&D projects and services. Their primary objective is to contribute to the modernization, enhancement, and promotion of competitiveness within the sustainable development framework of the agro-food sector. Furthermore, they will play a crucial role in supporting the Program Head in the management of scientific activities, encompassing Human Resources, Financial Resources, and Materials. In doing so, they will play an integral part in advancing research and attaining the scientific and strategic objectives set forth by the Program. Responsabilities: Collaborate with the Program Head to supervise the Research Program projects, providing support to research staff and ensuring the progress and quality of ongoing projects: Orchestrating scientific activities, assessing proposals, and overseeing European projects within the Program. Identifying research-driven needs to facilitate resource allocation (human, financial, and material) and ensure the achievement of established objectives through efficient and effective resource utilization. Providing guidance and fostering the professional development of Program personnel. Contributing to the cultivation of human capital, encompassing the supervision of doctoral and master's theses in Agro-food Economics. To design, lead and participate in public and private research projects in the field of Agro-food economics. To actively contribute to uptake R+D+I economic funds from both public institutions (competitive calls) and private agreements within the Agro-food sector. To write scientific papers and reports based on the research activity as well as to participate in technology transfer and/or advice activities addressed to both public and private sectors. Tangible results will be measured by the number of papers published in Impact factor Journals related to Agro-food economics, applied economics and economic analysis (specially in Q1) as well as by the number of citations. To develop and lead research relationships with other researchers belonging to national and international research centers and universities either from the socioeconomic area or from other research disciplines related to the Agro-food sector. To develop and maintain contacts with potential users of R+D+i activities along the food-supply chain as well to actively participate in dissemination activities. Requirements: PhD in Economics, Applied Economics or Agricultural Economics. Proven expertise in research involving socio-economic analysis of issues pertaining to the production, processing, and consumption of food products, along with a deep understanding of the interactions between the food system, natural resources, and the environment. Experience in participating in national and/or European projects from competitive calls. At least 20 publicationsin Impact factor journals (JCR, SCOPUS) being the first or the last author. Good knowledge of quantitative methods (econometric models, time series econometric and/or mathematical programming tools) applied to modeling agricultural and food policies and markets. Good knowledge of microeconomic theory and agricultural and food policies. Experience in using agricultural and food databases at local, regional, national, European and international levels. Proficiency in leadership or personnel development. Working knowledge of English (Knowledge of Spanish is not compulsory).
