JOB LOCATION AND SCHEDULE: Faculty of Computer Science, Monday to Friday: 8:00-15:00 The tasks to be carried out in the contract that is the subject of this call are part of the execution of the project “Development of compact storage for geospatial data platforms ready for analysis” developed by the CITIC with financing from the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (PID2024-155657OB-C22) and ERDF co-financing Aim: The goal of this line of work is to develop compact data structures that store raster information in both two dimensions and three dimensions. Libraries must be created that allow the structures to be built, as well as various queries to be made about these storage structures. Tasks to be performed Collaborate in the design of raster data storage structures and query algorithms on said structures. Collaborate in the implementation of raster data storage structures and query algorithms. Support in carrying out validation experiments of the structures and their query algorithms. Candidate requirements and selection criteria Required qualification: Degree in Computer Engineering. Obtain at least 50 points in the selection criteria specified below. The position could be vacated if none of the candidates exceed this limit. Additional Information Eligibility criteria Assessment Criteria (100 points max) AAcademic record in a degree in Computer Engineering (Other degrees will not score in this section) – 30 B Academic record of master's related to computer engineering (Other degrees will not score in this section) – 10 C Scholarships to support research in related fields obtained: 1 point for each month of duration of the scholarship – 10 D Demonstrable knowledge in the field of the tasks to be performed, which may be accredited through participation in projects, courses: 1 point for each month of project duration – 20 E Other merits not considered in previous points (languages, other courses…) – 5 points for each language additional to the mother tongue, – 0.5 points for each hour of course/training activity in the area of task – 10 F Personal interview: the three most valued candidates will be called for a personal interview, provided that their score in the rest of the sections is less than 15% of the candidate with the highest score, and assessing the suitability of the curriculum vitae to the job position. Candidates will be called for the interview at least 48 hours in advance. – 20 100 The merits claimed by the participants will have to be documented and fulfilled at the end of the application submission period. Depending on compliance with the requirements and the assessment of merits, an order of priority for the candidates will be established. The person who obtains the highest score will be awarded. With the two best-rated candidates above 50 points and, respecting this order of priority according to merit, a waiting list will be created exclusively for this position, which can be used for hiring in the event of resignation, dismissal or withdrawal due to temporary disability of the selected person.
