OverviewVistra is hiring a Spanish Payroll Associate for the iiPay business, part of the Global payroll division. This full-time, permanent role can be based in Spain, Hungary, Romania or Poland and offers local coverage. All roles can be performed remotely with occasional office visits. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to deliver a quality payroll service, from receipt of payroll instructions to final payroll reports, leveraging in-country payroll networks and strong data validation and communication skills.ResponsibilitiesDeliver accurate and compliant payroll processing for a group of assigned clients and payrolls, coordinating client requirements and managing the process with our in-country payroll network.Schedule and deliver client payrolls against the agreed timeline, communicating with clients and ICPs to meet deadlines; escalate issues to meet service levels.Maintain high customer satisfaction by improving systems, processes and the payroll delivery environment to maximise efficiency and accuracy of client contracts.Maintain clear and informative communications to clients, partners and internal teams including Client Service Managers.Develop knowledge of statutory processes for a group of countries and apply this to client requirements.Own or contribute to projects that improve systems, processes or functions within the business.Own, manage and resolve client escalations; work with payroll provider management to enhance processes and outcomes for the partner network.Manage and support the end-to-end payroll lifecycle for assigned clients, including data processing and quality checks.Your Core Activities Will IncludeManagement of 5 – 10 international payrolls, including data processing and quality/accuracy reviews.Resolve payroll queries by coordinating with clients and international third-party partners.Maintain accurate online document libraries for clients and provide clear summaries of updated information.Collaborate with peers to review payroll processes and identify improvement opportunities.Work with the team leader to implement new processes and create an efficient working environment.Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax and social security forms in compliance with applicable regulations.Manage communication to Social Security (registration, terminations, amendments, sick leaves, maternity/paternity leaves) and related systems.Manage monthly Social Security contributions in RED/SILTRA.Prepare and submit monthly and yearly tax forms to the AEAT (e.g., models 111, 216, 190, 296).Qualifications and Experience2-5 years of experience in Spanish payroll processing, preferably in-house, handling full-cycle payroll with client-facing responsibilities.Experience with Spanish statutory platforms: RED, SILTRA, CNOTRAT@, CERTIFIC@, AEAT, etc.Expert knowledge of Spanish legal requirements, statutory forms, and reporting; experience with complex payrolls (BIK, flexible remuneration, stock options/RSU, non-residents, expats).Strong knowledge of withholding taxes (IRPF) and tax filing compliance with Spanish tax authorities.Understanding of Social Security contributions, sick leaves, maternity/paternity leaves, and related changes.Familiarity with monthly and year-end tax filings (Modelo 111, 216, 190, 296) and collective bargaining agreements.Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Intermediate Excel skills; experience with A3 Innova software is a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish; English level minimum B2.
