Job Description
AECOM Buildings + Places is seeking a talented and visionary Architect to join our dynamic Architecture & Design team in Madrid. This is your opportunity to shape the future of cities and communities through projects that combine creativity, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology. As part of our team, you will work on iconic and complex projects across Spain and internationally, collaborating with multidisciplinary experts in architecture, engineering, urban design, and sustainability. What you’ll do:
- Lead architectural project development from concept through construction, ensuring technical coherence, buildability, and cost control at every stage.
- Develop and oversee detailed design packages, specifications, and construction documentation to ensure clarity and technical rigor.
- Coordinate structural, MEP, sustainability, and specialist consultants to achieve fully integrated and technically resolved solutions.
- Ensure full compliance with building codes, regulations, and applicable technical standards.
- Review and validate project documentation to guarantee accuracy, and consistency.
- Align technical decisions with budget parameters, maintaining control over cost-impacting design choices.
- Propose and implement innovative, solutions that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and long-term value for clients.
- Evaluate and integrate advanced systems, materials, and technologies that provide added value and competitive advantage to projects.
- Liaise with local manufacturers and suppliers to assess, specify, and incorporate appropriate construction systems.
- Conduct internal technical reviews and quality assurance processes across all project stages.
- Apply sustainable principles and innovative solutions throughout the design process.
- Engage in design critiques, presentations, and client meetings.
Qualifications
Please, portfolio submission is mandatory along with your CV.
- Degree in Architecture or Technical Architecture with 10-15 years of professional experience.
- Strong design and graphic skills.
- Proficiency in BIM-based environments and software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and collaborative platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in the development of construction details and technical solutions for complex projects.
- Experience in construction phase supervision, including site visits and issue resolution.
- Proven experience delivering projects for or in Spain, with knowledge of Spanish building regulations and standards (CTE, LOE, EHE).
- Experience in international, multidisciplinary environments is a plus.
- English proficiency is also required.
