Technical Control Facility Operator

Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Technical Control Facility Operator (TCF Operator) to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.

PURPOSE / SCOPE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Control Facility (TCF) Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications systems and a proven track record of working within TCF operations. The TCF Operator will be responsible for managing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining an array of complex communications equipment and systems to ensure reliable and secure network operations. This position demands a combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on expertise to address technical challenges efficiently and effectively.

• Operate and maintain Technical Control Facility (TCF) systems, ensuring uninterrupted functionality and performance.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve malfunctions for various communication systems and equipment, ensuring system integrity and uptime.
• Conduct organizational-level maintenance and repair tasks on critical equipment, including but not limited to AN/GSC 52B, M/20 JUNIPER, RT2200, KIV-7M, and associated CRYPTO devices.
• Perform diagnostics, fault isolation, and corrective actions to address system or equipment issues.
• Operate and manage Fiber Optic Equipment, ensuring the proper functionality of data transmission infrastructure.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge and proficiency in the theoretical and practical aspects of electronic systems and telecommunications technology.
• Support the operation, inspection, and maintenance of encryption devices and cryptographic systems to maintain network security and compliance.
• Provide operational support and troubleshooting for military or commercial communications systems as required.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable security protocols and procedures for the handling, operation, and maintenance of communications and cryptographic equipment.
• Document, report, and communicate technical issues, resolutions, and maintenance logs.
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and mission requirements.
• Will perform other duties as assigned.

The TCF Operator will be available for on-call support as needed 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Four (4) years general experience incommunications systems, demonstrating a strong understanding of telecommunications concepts, operations and equipment
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to dynamic operational requirements
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and commitment to operational excellence
• Within the last four years
  • Two (2) years of focused, hands-on experience in TCF operations
  • Two (2) years specialized experience in thetheoretical and practical knowledge of electronic theory related to diagnosing, isolating and repairing technical malfunctions in communications systems
  • Specialized experience with specific equipment and systems including AN/GSC 52B, M/20 JUNIPER, RT2200, KIV7M, CRYPTO equipment; Fiber Optic Equipment, orcommunications technologies within a military or commercial communications center
• Technical expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits, signal flow, and telecommunications technologies.
  • Experience performing organizational-level maintenance on communications systems and cryptographic equipment.
• Must be familiar with current global, US, Program and PWS requirements
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license throughout employment in this role
• Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring
• Ability to successfully pass the medical contract requirements and maintain compliance throughout the duration of deployment
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in a military or government communications role.
• Certifications in telecommunications, cryptographic systems, or relevant technical fields.
