About The Role

The SGS Pre-Sales Senior Manager leads and owns SGS pre-sales support to the GEOs, ensuring timely, consistent and high-quality operational input throughout the opportunity lifecycle. The role manages the SGS Pre-Sales team which acts as the primary interface between GEO bid teams and SGS functions, and ensures proposed service support solutions are operationally supportable, financially sound, standardized where possible, and aligned with the SGS Target Operating Model.

The SGS Pre-Sales Senior Manager leads the transformation of this team: driving effective bid governance, risk visibility, reusable pre-sales capabilities and ensures a complete handover to Delivery and Transition.

What You Will Do

SGS Pre-Sales Leadership & GEO Partnership

  • Lead and own SGS pre-sales support to the GEOs, establishing clear engagement models, service levels, priorities and escalation paths.
  • Build strong working relationships with GEO Sales, Bid Management, Solution Design, SGS teams, and conduct regular joint reviews of pipeline, performance and improvement actions.
  • Represent SGS pre-sales in governance forums and senior stakeholder discussions for strategic or high-risk opportunities.

Opportunity Qualification & Bid Governance

  • Oversee the SGS Pre-Sales pipeline from qualification through proposal, governance approval, negotiation and handover; ensure resources are assigned based on business priority, complexity, risk and capacity.
  • Ensure timely and accurate SGS inputs to RFI, RFQ, RFP, renewal and change opportunities, including service support models, sizing, costs, assumptions, dependencies, risks and mitigation actions.
  • Ensure effective preparation for GBAB and CBAB reviews, including concise briefings, executive decision points and follow-up of actions through contract finalization.

Operational Solution Assurance & Risk Management

  • Ensure proposed solutions are operationally feasible, supportable and aligned with SGS capabilities, customer requirements and financial objectives by ensuring close and effective engagement with portfolio operations and professional field service teams.
  • Ensure that SGS pre-sales engage relevant SGS teams for non-standard requirements and holds them accountable for complete design, costing, service levels, contractual inputs, risks and transition requirements.
  • Ensure all material assumptions, exclusions, dependencies and residual risks are documented, approved and reflected in proposal and contractual artefacts.

Standardization, Capability & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive adoption of standard service support packages, cost models, contractual schedules, response libraries, templates and customer-facing documentation.
  • Own the SGS Pre-Sales knowledge base and ways of working, reducing rework and cycle time through automation, data, AI and lessons learned.
  • Track team and process KPIs covering responsiveness, bid volumes & capacity, quality, supportability, risk closure, standard-package adoption, stakeholder satisfaction and handover effectiveness.

People & Performance Management

  • Lead, coach and develop the global SGS Pre-Sales team
  • Create an accountable, collaborative and customer-focused culture that delivers predictable quality under demanding bid timelines.

Contracting, Handover & Feedback

  • Support clarification and contract negotiation to protect the agreed operational model and ensure changes are assessed before commitment.
  • Ensure complete, timely handover of won opportunities to Delivery, Transition, Customer Operations and Product Adoption, with traceable decisions and documentation.
  • Establish feedback loops from bids and live operations to improve support offerings, processes and future opportunity quality.

  • Own and manage the assigned SGS Pre-Sales budget, including planning, forecasting, expenditure control and timely escalation of v
