AI Factory Product Owner

About the Job

As the AI Factory Product Owner for the Global Agentic Platform, you own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Allianz Technology's central AI runtime foundation. You lead the product backlog and squads that build, run, maintain, and operate a secure, scalable, and financially responsible platform that offers agentic capabilities to Allianz Operating Entities (OEs).

In close collaboration with AI Architecture, Security, Compliance, People & Culture, Finance, and business stakeholders across the Group, you drive standardization of AI runtime, governance, and core platform components—ensuring a plug-and-play experience with safety and FinOps guardrails baked in, not bolted on.

What you do

• Define and continuously refine the product strategy, vision, and multi-quarter roadmap for the Global Agentic Platform, aligned to the AI Factory strategy and OE needs.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog; translate business and technical requirements into clear, outcome-driven epics and user stories for Build-Run-Operate squads.
• Lead squads to deliver platform enhancements and services (model routing and caching, shared RAG services, MCP interfaces, spec kits, prompt management, skills libraries) that are secure, reliable, and easy to adopt.
• Ensure "platform by default" standards: drive standardization and the lifecycle of tooling and frameworks in partnership with the AI Architect (what becomes standard, what is sandboxed, what is retired). Embed compliance and AI governance by design (model risk, data privacy, security, auditability, responsible AI) together with Group stakeholders and control functions.
• Own non-functional outcomes (SLOs/SLIs), platform reliability, observability, incident/problem/change processes, and capacity planning for global scale. Manage AI FinOps levers (usage controls, cost visibility, optimization guardrails) to balance performance, availability, and cost.
• Drive adoption and customer success with OEs: define GTM, documentation, enablement, and support models; collect feedback and convert insights into roadmap value.
• Govern supplier and open-source usage; manage vendor selections and renewals in line with enterprise architecture and risk standards. Define and track KPIs/OKRs (adoption, reliability, performance, cost, time-to-value) and report progress to senior stakeholders.

What you bring

• Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager for platforms (preferably AI/ML or developer platforms) with end-to-end ownership of strategy, roadmap, and delivery.
• Strong technical understanding of modern AI platform concepts (LLMs, agent frameworks, RAG patterns, vector databases, prompt management, model routing/caching, API abstractions such as MCP), with the ability to translate them into business value.
• Hands-on experience driving reliability, security, compliance, and governance by design in regulated environments (preferably financial services).
• Proficiency with Agile at scale (Scrum/Kanban), outcome-driven prioritization, and leading cross-functional squads in Build-Run-Operate models.
• Data-driven decision-making with solid grasp of observability and FinOps principles to optimize cost, performance, and adoption.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across engineering, architecture, security, compliance, finance, and business teams in an international setting.
• Familiarity with AI technologies and GenAI platforms is a strong advantage.
