This position involves strategic planning, direct communication with C‑level executives and founders, and a hands‑on approach to market analysis, partnership development, and team leadership. Your primary market will be European Union and the United Kingdom. Responsibilities Market Analysis and Strategy Development: Conduct in‑depth market research to understand the ocean freight landscape, identifying potential customers, competitors, and opportunities for expansion. Develop and implement a robust business development strategy tailored to the ocean freight sector. Sales Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a dedicated sales team focused on ocean freight services. Set clear targets, provide ongoing training, and foster a culture of success and continuous improvement. Client Acquisition and Retention: Drive the acquisition of new clients while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing ones. Understand client needs and tailor solutions that showcase Skypace's strengths in ocean freight. Collaboration with Marketing and Product Teams: Work closely with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns and with the product team to ensure service offerings align with market needs and customer expectations. Industry Networking: Represent Skypace at industry events, conferences, and forums, establishing a strong professional network and enhancing the company's visibility and reputation in the ocean freight sector. Requirements Proven experience in business development within the global freight forwarding industry, with a strong focus on ocean freight export/import. Excellent understanding of the ocean freight market, including regulations, market dynamics, and customer needs. Strong leadership skills with experience in building and motivating sales teams. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills. Strategic thinker with a track record of driving growth and capturing market opportunities.
