Overview At ING we are looking for a Head of New Business Development. Role and work environment We are looking for a talented and inspiring Head of New Business Development to lead the Business Development Office in charge of accelerating the launch of new Business Initiatives that contribute to the Growth pillar of ING’s Together to Double strategy. The Head of New Business Development plays a pivotal role in shaping, validating, and preparing strategic initiatives for implementation. The role ensures initiatives are co-developed with relevant stakeholders, aligned with ING’s strategic direction, and prepared for delivery. The Head of New Business Development drives cross‑functional collaboration, facilitates governance, and ensures strategic clarity across the initiative lifecycle. Responsibilities Lead a team of 3-5 business development professionals to develop strategic opportunities. Co‑lead (with the Tribe Sponsor) the end‑to‑end development of Business Initiatives from challenge framing, opportunity sizing, customer insight integration, financial modelling to delivery readiness. Ensure initiatives are co‑shaped from inception with Tribes, Risk, Finance, COO, People, Legal, Innovation, and the CEO Office. Drive strategic alignment required for One RoadMap inclusion and organizational buy‑in. Prepare decision‑ready materials for Management Council and Progress & Iterate governance forums. Coordinate part‑time expert contributors (Finance, Research, PI Business Lead, etc.) to develop business cases and validate assumptions. Support early implementation phases to maintain alignment with the business case and initiative design intent. Monitor initiative risks, dependencies, and organizational readiness. Qualifications Strong analytical mindset and structured problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and influence across senior levels. Ability to thrive in ambiguity and shape initiatives from inception. Team‑oriented mindset aligned with ING’s Orange Code. Demonstrated leadership in cross‑functional, complex initiative development. Expertise in business case development, financial modelling, and customer insights. Strong facilitation, synthesis, and storytelling capabilities. Leadership / personal competencies Inspirational leadership, capable of motivating and developing diverse teams. Strategic vision and orientation to digital innovation. Excellent communication, collaboration, and change management skills. Ability to influence and advise at different organizational levels, including C‑suite. Focus on security, compliance, and customer protection. Global mindset and intercultural sensitivity. Experience Minimum 15 years in strategy, business development, consulting, or product leadership. Experience in Retail and/or Business Banking. Digital business is highly valuable. Proven ability to manage diverse stakeholders and navigate complex organizations. Education Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred. Languages Spanish and English proficiency. Responsabilidades Liderar un equipo de 3-5 profesionales de desarrollo de negocio para crear oportunidades estratégicas. Co‑liderar (junto con el/la Tribe Sponsor) el desarrollo end‑to‑end de las Iniciativas de Negocio: desde la definición del reto, dimensionamiento de la oportunidad, integración de insights de clientes y modelización financiera hasta la preparación para la entrega. Garantizar que las iniciativas se co‑definan desde su inicio con Tribes, Riesgos, Finanzas, COO, Personas, Legal, Innovación y la Oficina del CEO. Impulsar la alineación estratégica necesaria para la inclusión en el One RoadMap y la aceptación organizativa. Preparar materiales listos para la toma de decisiones en el Management Council y foros de gobernanza Progress & Iterate. Coordinar colaboradores/as expertos/as a tiempo parcial (Finanzas, Investigación, PI Business Lead, etc.) para desarrollar business cases y validar hipótesis. Apoyar las fases iniciales de implementación para mantener la alineación con el business case y la intención de diseño de la iniciativa. Monitorizar riesgos, dependencias y preparación organizativa de las iniciativas. Habilidades técnicas Mentalidad analítica sólida y habilidades estructuradas de resolución de problemas. Excelentes capacidades de comunicación e influencia a niveles senior. Capacidad para desenvolverse en entornos ambiguos y dar forma a iniciativas desde su inicio. Mentalidad orientada al trabajo en equipo, alineada con el Orange Code de ING. Liderazgo demostrado en el desarrollo de iniciativas complejas y transversales. Experiencia en desarrollo de business cases, modelización financiera e insights de clientes. Gran capacidad de facilitación, síntesis y storytelling. Competencias de liderazgo/personales Liderazgo inspirador, capaz de motivar y desarrollar equipos diversos. Visión estratégica y orientación hacia la innovación digital. Excelentes habilidades de comunicación, colaboración y gestión del cambio. Capacidad para influir y asesorar en diferentes niveles organizativos, incluyendo C‑suite. Enfoque en seguridad, cumplimiento y protección del cliente. Mentalidad global y sensibilidad intercultural. Experiencia previa Mínimo 15 años en estrategia, desarrollo de negocio, consultoría o liderazgo de producto. Experiencia en Banca Retail y/o Banca de Empresas. Negocio digital altamente valorado. Capacidad demostrada para gestionar personas implicadas diversas y navegar en organizaciones complejas. Formación Grado universitario requerido; Máster o MBA valorado.
