The mission of BSC is to advance science through research, development and management of information technologies, combining HPC services with R&D in computational science across multiple domains.Context and MissionThe BSC AI Factory is a flagship project that demands close interaction with leadership, scientific departments and transversal units. This role provides strategic and transversal support to BSC leadership, aiding the implementation of priority institutional initiatives, particularly the AI Factory. It operates at the intersection of strategy and execution, reinforcing alignment across departments and ensuring that institutional priorities translate into coherent, actionable activities.Key DutiesStrategic Project LeadershipCoordinate the conception, planning, and execution of institutional strategic projects in alignment with BSC’s overall goals.Collaborate with scientific departments and stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and success metrics.Provide strategic guidance and oversight throughout the project lifecycle to ensure timely delivery and achievement of desired outcomes.Stakeholder ManagementCultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Scientific Advisory Board, industry partners, funding agencies, and government entities.Solicit feedback and input from stakeholders to inform project strategy and decision-making processes.Anticipate and address stakeholder concerns to maintain project momentum and support.Strategic Planning and AlignmentContribute to the development and refinement of BSC’s strategic roadmap.Ensure that institutional strategic projects align with BSC’s mission, vision, and core values.Monitor external factors and market dynamics to identify opportunities and risks.Problem Identification, Resolution, and Continuous ImprovementIdentify structural, operational, or coordination issues that impact project implementation.Design and propose pragmatic, innovative solutions to overcome bottlenecks.Support the resolution of issues across functional areas and facilitate consensus and corrective actions.Conduct post‑project reviews and lessons‑learned sessions to inform continuous improvement initiatives.AI Factory Project Coordination and Internal AlignmentSupport the successful implementation of the BSC AI Factory by coordinating and executing project activities.Act as a facilitator of internal alignment, working with relevant BSC departments and units.Assist in translating strategic and operational requirements into coordinated actions.Provide transversal support by anticipating issues, clarifying roles and interfaces, and reinforcing effective collaboration between stakeholders.RequirementsEducationBachelor degree in engineering, computer science, business administration, or a related field.Essential Knowledge and Professional ExperienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in project management, strategic planning, or related roles, preferably within research institutions or academia.Proven track record of managing complex, cross‑functional projects from initiation to completion, delivering measurable results on time and within budget.Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives aligned with organizational goals.Understanding of research methodologies, technology trends, and scientific developments, particularly in HPC or computational sciences.Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and navigate complex dynamics.Analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills with keen attention to detail.Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Spanish and other European languages is advantageous.Additional Knowledge and Professional ExperienceFamiliarity with European funding programs, research grants, and project financing mechanisms.Experience working in multidisciplinary or international environments, collaborating across cultural and organisational boundaries.Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements related to research, technology
