They’re the workshop where Open Cosmos missions come to life — taking designs from paper to physical hardware.It’s hands‑on, fast‑paced, and mission‑critical - it doesn’t get much cooler than thisWhat You’ll Be DoingThe IT Developer plays a key role in supporting satellite manufacturing by building and maintaining the digital systems used on the production floor. This role focuses on practical, hands‑on development: solving problems, improving data flow, and making sure production systems are reliable, secure, and easy to use.You’ll work closely with production, engineering, and operations teams to design and deliver software and automation solutions that improve performance, traceability, and compliance across the manufacturing facility.You will be:Developing, deploying, and maintaining software tools, scripts, and applications used in production and test environmentsDesigning and implementing IT and automation solutions to improve data flow, traceability, and process efficiencyTroubleshooting and resolving system and application issues that affect manufacturing operationsIntegrating production tools and test equipment with databases, ERP, and MES systemsWorking with engineering and operations teams to define digital requirements and technical solutionsEnsuring systems are reliable, secure, and compliant with industry and internal standardsAnalysing production data to identify inefficiencies and propose system improvementsKeeping clear and accurate documentation of system configurations, updates, and integrationsWhat You’ll BringAbility to develop software using Python, Rust, C#, or similar languagesStrong understanding of database design and management (e.g. SQL, PostgreSQL)Familiarity with machine vision systems in a manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of system integration, APIs, and automation frameworksUnderstanding of networked industrial systems, data collection, and IoT architecturesComfortable using Git and following good software documentation practicesAwareness of cybersecurity principles and IT system validationThis role will be based in either Harwell, UK or Barcelona, Spain.To apply, you must have the legal right to work in this location.Please submit your application and CV in English.Why Open Cosmos?Work at the cutting edge of space technology with customers around the globe.A mission-driven company making space accessible to help solve real-world challenges.A diverse, ambitious, and supportive team.#J-18808-Ljbffr
