Please do not contact the recruiter directly.PositionPostdoctoral researcher in the Nonlinear Photonics for Neuroscience (NPN) group – developing new miniaturized microscopes for the study of the brain.ResponsibilitiesSimulate and develop advanced optical systems based on high‑peak‑power infrared lasers and optical fibers.Perform in vitro and in vivo experiments, including designing and adapting surgical protocols, to establish the performance of the microscope.Mentor and supervise PhD and master’s students, fostering their growth.Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at international conferences.Essential RequirementsPhD in photonics, biology, or a related field, completed before the start date of the contract.Proven experience in optical microscopy, especially two‑photon microscopy and innovative optical solutions.Hands‑on experience with surgical procedures and in vivo experiments, particularly in mouse models.Proactive and collaborative mindset, strong problem‑solving skills and effective communication in multidisciplinary settings.Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.AdvantageousPrevious experience in miniaturized optical components and in vivo microscopy.Experience working in international research teams or institutions.OfferNumber of available positions: 1Starting date: 01/05/2025Working conditions: 3‑year full time contract.Measures for work–family balance: parental leave, flexible schedule, 23 working days paid holidays, 9 leave days for personal matters, among others.How to applyUntil 20/12/2024.
