Job Summary Flowserve is seeking an experienced Rotating Equipment Reliability Engineer to deliver advanced technical expertise for pumps and mechanical seals across major customer sites in Spain and Italy. In this role, you will drive improvements in equipment performance and uptime, focusing on extending Mean Time Between Repairs (MTBR) within Flowserve’s Life Cycle Advantage (LCA) programs. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will diagnose complex issues affecting centrifugal pumps and mechanical seals, as well as specialized sealing systems used in turbines, compressors, mixers, centrifuges, and other rotating machinery. Key Responsibilities Evaluate failure trends across large fleets of rotating equipment to identify areas for reliability improvement within customer LCA programs. Investigate high-impact failures by examining damaged components and determining the mechanical interactions that caused the defects. Conduct detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to uncover underlying equipment, system, operational, or repair-related contributors to failure. Recommend corrective actions based on RCA findings, including operating practice adjustments, procedural changes, or equipment upgrades. Identify opportunities for Flowserve technologies and services that improve reliability, reduce energy usage, and lower lifecycle cost; collaborate with Engineering and Sales on proposal development. Serve as the primary reliability engineering contact for assigned customers in Spain and Italy, with regular on-site visits as needed. Collaborate closely with the wider network of LCA Engineers across Europe and the Middle East, along with internal specialists in sealing, rotating machinery, and applications engineering. Required Qualifications Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience as a Rotating Equipment, Machinery, or Reliability Engineer working extensively with rotating equipment. Strong troubleshooting background specifically with centrifugal pumps and mechanical seals. Proven experience leading and executing Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA). Advanced analytical skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline. Fluency in both Spanish and English at C1 level or higher. Preferred Skills Familiarity with API 610 and API 682 standards. Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis and oil diagnostics. Professional certifications such as CRE or CMRP. Experience with a broader range of rotating machinery including steam turbines, compressors, centrifuges, mixers, and agitators. Location & Travel Position based in Spain, preferably near Tarragona; remote work from other regions of Spain will be considered.
