Join to apply for the Mechanical Technical Support Engineer role at GE Vernova Job Description Summary The Mechanical technical support specialist will provide engineering support to the technicians on the site for the resolution of technical issues which affect the reliable operation of the Offshore wind turbine fleet. Target is to improve availability and reliability of the units. Execute standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. Job Description Essential Responsibilities Preferred contact point for any technical issues or questions raised by Offshore site technicians. Take ownership of issue resolution process until closure of the technical case. Escalate business‑critical cases with support of the Product Service Engineering, identify emerging issues within the fleet, track issues and raise escalation as needed. Support the site team at the end of wind turbine commissioning, prepare the punch list for handover between Project execution and Services. Assist in the validation of Log‑out/tag‑out procedures and maintenance work instructions prepared by the O&M documentation team. Contribute to continuous improvement of product availability by capturing lessons learned from operation. Resolve issues that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Marine or Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 5 years of professional technical experience. Minimum of 3 years of technical experience in Offshore/Marine wind turbine generation engineering function. Mechanical knowledge (structural, blades or other mechanical systems) and electrical expertise on operation systems and troubleshooting activities in a wind turbine, with at least 3 years of fleet support experience. Desired Characteristics Good communication and leadership skills. Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility. Ability to work with multicultural teams; strong team player. Ability to work within structured work methods. Willingness to climb wind turbine generator. Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time and to customer sites at short notice to resolve technical challenges. Autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework. Fluent in English.
