About the Role As a Privacy Counsel , you will play an integral role in developing global, cutting-edge privacy practices and policies, and in building a compliance‑centric product with excellent user experience. You will report to the DPO & Lead Privacy Counsel and will collaborate daily with Senior Legal leaders and team members. The role requires proactivity, autonomy and strong problem-solving skills, with the opportunity to enhance your professional and communication abilities at the highest level. Responsibilities Support the Privacy team in developing Fever’s global privacy program to ensure ongoing compliance with data protection laws across Europe and other international regulations within EMEA, APAC, US & Canada or LATAM territories. Provide advice to other Legal teams and business units (Product, Marketing & Growth, Sales, Operations, etc.) on privacy requirements and risks, supporting informed decision‑making and privacy‑by‑design initiatives. Assist in defining all requirements and controls necessary for monitoring ISO 27001 & ISO 27701 certifications, and manage quality & assurance controls of Fever’s global privacy program. Perform third‑party service risk assessments (Procurement) and negotiate data sharing/processing agreements and data protection clauses within commercial contracts. Keep abreast of trends and initiatives in privacy and personal data management to provide risk‑based strategic advice, enabling business growth without compromising user experience. Coordinate responses to requests from individuals and law enforcement or government agencies. Provide counsel and oversight on personal data breach responses. Identify and raise any significant or potential data protection or privacy issues. Work collaboratively, bringing mitigating controls or solutions to every identified issue. Assist in designing privacy and data protection training. About You Be a barred lawyer in a EU jurisdiction or the UK (France, UK, Portugal, Germany). Have 6+ years of post‑bar professional legal experience focused on implementing global privacy compliance programs (policies, procedures, notices, controls, etc.). Ideally at least 4–5 years of in‑house experience – preferably in high‑growth tech or direct‑to‑consumer businesses. Hold an internationally recognized privacy certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT or CDPP. Speak fluent English and have strong legal English proficiency; fluency in Portuguese, German, French, Italian, or Spanish is a plus. Experience in implementing and deploying privacy procedures (data mapping, vendor risk management, data subject requests, etc.). Have an excellent academic record or experience in top-tier law firms or companies. Be a team‑player with a commitment to technology and an affinity for marketplace platforms and digital services.
