Task description: We seek a part-time research technician with expertise in statistics and network science in the context of public health. The technician will work on research on networks related to human-mosquito interaction, vector mosquito populations, and mosquito-borne disease. The research technician will carry out original research on the networks through which mosquito-borne diseases pass, including questions related to degree distributions, heterogeneity, sampling, and inference. (gross ,04 euros/yearJob Location: Barcelona, Spain.Type of Contract – Contract for carrying out activities related to the research line of the Socio Demographic Research Group, affiliated with the Department of Political and Social Sciences. Indefinite according to the provisions of article 23 bis of the Llei 14/2011, from the 1st of June, of science, technology, and innovation. Part-time (25h/w). This position has an initial duration of 1 year, with the possibility of extension depending on the needs of the projects. Requirements to be fulfilled by the candidates: General: Hold a master's degree. Specific qualifications: 1. Master's degree in statistics At least 3 years of experience with carrying out academic research related to statistics and networks in the context of mosquito-borne disease; Experience with writing articles for publication in academic journals and presenting research at academic conferences related to networks. Expertise in network analysis using R and Python. Fluency in English. These participation requirements must be fulfilled on the first day of the deadline for submitting applications, must be able to be accredited at any time during the selection process and must continue to be fulfilled on the date of signing the contract. Additional qualifications (Note: candidates will be given preference based on these qualifications) Expertise in LaTeX. Excellent writing skills.
