Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Plant Operations Manager to oversee our manufacturing facilities in Spain. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient operations, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities- Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing plant, ensuring smooth and efficient production processes. Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize resource utilization. Monitor and manage plant performance, including production output, quality, and safety metrics.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production staff, supervisors, and other key personnel. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, productivity, and employee engagement. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and training as needed.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections and audits. Address and resolve any quality issues or customer complaints promptly.
- Safety and Compliance: Enforce and adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct safety training and drills for employees. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in production processes, equipment, and overall plant efficiency. Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste. Drive innovation and stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage the plant budget, including labor, materials, and overhead costs. Optimize resource allocation and manage inventory levels to minimize waste and reduce costs. Prepare and present regular reports on plant performance.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- Proven experience as a Plant Manager or in a similar managerial role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Spanish labor laws.
- SAP experience preferred.
- Strong experience in production planning and raw material supply chain areas.
- Experienced in project management (New equipment, CAPEX, OPEX, etc.).
- Data driven mindset, ability to build production reports to define priorities.
- Familiar with laboratory testing for plastics (DSC, MFI, dirtiness, etc).
- Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
