Telefónica S. A. Sustainability Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate professional to join our Environment and Human Rights Corporate Department as a Sustainable Finance Lead. This role will be part of our team responsible for designing, developing, and implementing strategies and actions to address sustainability topics, including environment and climate change, sustainable supply chain management, and human rights.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Manage projects related to sustainable finance and financial impact of sustainability, including reporting on sustainability and financial impact, participation in Telefónica's annual corporate report, and internal control of non-financial information.
  • Participate in climate change risks and opportunities related to financial impact and planning, and implement specific projects to fill gaps of new regulation.
  • Define general processes and accompany internal transformation projects, both at local and global level, in collaboration with different teams and companies of the Telefónica Group.
  • Develop and implement the European sustainable finance framework, including taxonomy of sustainable activities, environmental technical screening criteria, and social minimum safeguards.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related fields, or business/legal/science/engineering with a postgraduate in environment.
  • Previous experience in sustainable finance topics, such as green/sustainable bonds/loans issuance, carbon funds, and carbon pricing.
  • 10 years of work experience in sustainability, either in a company or consultancy, with previous experience in environment/climate change.
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment, including EU-level initiatives on sustainability matters and reporting obligations.
