About the Role

The Head of Purchasing at Amadeus is responsible for guiding and coordinating the Purchasing organization, ensuring compliance with policies, strategies, and processes. This role involves managing strategic relationships with key vendors and stakeholders, as well as guiding the strategies of different Purchasing Categories at a global level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the purchasing strategy, contributing to Amadeus' Business Strategy.
  • Set organization targets across all categories and oversee major projects impacting the Purchasing function.
  • Communicate performance expectations clearly and proactively address performance-related issues.
  • Represent Business Units' needs in category strategies and coordinate with the CPO and CPO Office to align actions and messages.
  • Support strategic sourcing activities and develop partnerships with key strategic vendors to create additional value for Amadeus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or Engineering. MBA or equivalent experience is considered a plus.
  • Extensive experience guiding multinational/multicultural teams.
  • Significant experience managing complex purchasing scopes and category management environments, providing wide and deep insights into Indirect Purchasing practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results and meet deadlines in a dynamic organization.
  • Proficiency in English is required, Spanish and/or French is a plus.
