Job Title: Senior Staff Engineer Process Development

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Staff Engineer Process Development to join our team at BD. As a key member of our Intelligent Automation team, you will be responsible for developing site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps, designing and implementing process optimization strategies, and collaborating with manufacturing site teams to improve product quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop site-specific Intelligent Automation roadmaps inclusive of digital solutions, machine learning, and commonality of technical solutions across other sites.
  • Design and implement process optimization strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle time, and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing site teams to conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement and recommending technological solutions.
  • Manage external contractors and vendors for process development and technology transfer projects.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to resolve process-related issues and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Requirements:
  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing / Process Engineering, Computer Engineering / Software Systems or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in manufacturing engineering, automation design and development, technology transfer, and project engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Intelligent Automation solutions and digital transformations, including machine learning, vision and controls engineering, AMR's, Cobots / Robotics, AI, GenAI, and data analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing / Process Engineering, Computer Engineering / Software Systems.
  • Project Management Training and / or Certification.
  • Industry 4.0 Training and / or Certification.
  • Proficient in process analysis, process modelling and simulation software, and statistical analysis.
