Vonage Compliance Mission:

The Vonage API Communications Group is a leading provider of cloud communications platforms (CPaaS) serving customers such as Airbnb, Viber, WhatsApp, Snapchat, and others. Our APIs and SDKs enable global communication networks and channels, requiring effective implementation of carrier and country regulation changes and fraud management to prevent misuse.

Why this role matters:

As Vonage API Platform expands, the need for implementing regulatory changes and fraud management grows. This role is pivotal in the Product Team, working transversely with Product Managers and business owners to solve and assist in the implementation of software-based Compliance and Regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and own the Vonage Compliance roadmap, working with Carrier, Security, Legal, and individual Product Managers to provide solutions and manage delivery.
  • Collaborate with individual Product Managers to deliver key regulatory changes such as Stir/Shaken, 10DLC, and backend systems like KYC.
  • Create and manage processes to manage regulatory requests across the business, coordinating with individual Product Managers for delivery.
  • Assist in identifying solutions to address regulatory, compliance, or privacy requirements.
  • Design and monitor control systems to address violations of legal rules and internal policies.

Requirements:

  • Experience working on-the-ground delivering compliance solutions for SaaS providers or similar services.
  • Subject matter expertise on local telecoms regulations globally, fraud attack vectors, and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of software development and processes within the security and compliance realm.
  • Ability to work with different stakeholders across the business from software Engineers through to Finance, Security, Legal, and Operations teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in areas including regulations, KYC, and Data Sovereignty, Cloud Security.
  • Previous experience working with engineers to identify and implement regulatory and compliance fixes and solutions.
  • Strong knowledge in data protection and compliance, security-oriented cloud services, fraud vector analytics, and threat detection and prevention.
  • Proven experience working as a business subject matter expert or in a technical capacity within compliance & regulations.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a relevant sector and function.
  • Minimum 5+ years of Product or Operational Management experience.
  • Experience in working for or with regulators either directly or via industry bodies, telcos, or cloud industries.
