Postdoctoral Researcher in Moire Quantum Matter

ICFO is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in the Quantum Flagship program. The successful candidate will be working on the exploration and development of twisted quantum materials and two-dimensional correlated electron systems.
The project covers a wide range of areas, including advanced van der Waals materials, moire quantum matter, superconductivity collective phenomena, photodetection, quantum technologies, and strong light-matter interactions. The researcher will have access to advanced tools such as dilution cryostats with optical access, cryogenic scanning near-field microscope, optical quantum twist microscope, scanning tunnelling microscope, etc.
Minimum Requirements: Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in physics, materials science, or nanotechnology. The candidate should have a proven track record of 2D materials, heterostructures, and moire systems. Experience with any of the tools mentioned above is also a plus.

Salaries for ICFO Postdoctoral positions are assigned by the Selection Committee, based on experience and seniority of the applicant, as well as the assigned tasks and responsibilities within the group. Standard salaries range from a lower level aligned with national Ramon-y-Cajal fellowships to higher levels aligned with Marie Sklodowska-Curie individual fellowships. The contract is offered for a period of 3 years. Additionally, a family allowance is also available on request and after corresponding approval for people with family charges in the terms described in the corresponding policy.
