About the Role
As a Legal Counsel for Spain, you will play a crucial role in identifying and mitigating legal risks related to real estate development and operations. Your primary objective will be to proactively advise the organisation on potential legal risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with the company's policies, standards, and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage agreements and other legal documents in relation to data centre and light industrial/logistics projects.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and industry trends impacting the company.
- Proactively advise the organisation on potential legal risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with the company's policies, standards, and values.
- Train and educate the Spanish team on relevant legal and compliance matters.
- Involving and manage external law firms in an effective and timely way and at fair cost.
- Ensure the coordination of legal disputes and/or litigation.
Requirements
- Master degree in law from a Spanish university.
- Excellent knowledge of contract law, construction law, and energy law with a strong interest in all regulatory changes triggered by sustainability.
- At least 8 years of proven experience as a legal counsel or a similar role in a company or law firm of which minimum 5 years in construction law for major (infrastructure) projects and/or data centers.
