The Role

We are seeking a Senior Game Engineer to join our team in Madrid, Spain.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Contribute to the design and development of our ambitious MMO project, leveraging distributed systems and ECS architecture.
  2. Work on solving complex technical problems across the game's C# codebase, from the game client to AI systems and server-side code.
  3. Develop user interfaces using EvolveUI, a modern and high-performance UI framework for game development.
  4. Collaborate with fellow Klangers across engineering, game design, UI/UX design, and art disciplines.
Requirements
  1. 5+ years of professional programming experience with C#, C++, or Java.
  2. Experience with a modern game engine and/or backend, with Unity experience being a plus.
  3. Understanding and navigating complex systems in code and game designs.
  4. Identifying and resolving technical and design challenges.
  5. Writing performant code based on a solid foundational knowledge of memory management and algorithmic complexity.
Bonus Requirements
  1. Developing large-scale online multiplayer games from concept to release.
  2. Working with ECS architectures (Unity DOTS or equivalent).
  3. Implementing and consuming network APIs (REST, gRPC, etc.).
  4. Working with distributed systems, especially actor frameworks (Akka, Orleans, etc.).
  5. Ensuring the stability and reliability of the game and taking ownership of operational responsibilities.
  6. Experience with modern web UI frameworks (easier to learn EvolveUI).
