About the Position

Klang Games is seeking a highly skilled Senior Game Engineer to join our team in creating a groundbreaking MMO project. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing the game's architecture, working closely with our game designers, artists, and other engineers to bring this ambitious project to life.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and Development: Contribute to the design and development of the game's architecture, including the ECS system and distributed systems.
  2. Technical Problem-Solving: Work on solving complex technical problems across the game's C# codebase, from the game client to server-side code.
  3. User Interface Development: Build user interfaces using EvolveUI, a modern and high-performance UI framework for game development.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with fellow team members across multiple disciplines, including engineering, game design, UI/UX design, and art.
Requirements
  1. Professional Experience: 5+ years of professional programming experience with C#, C++, or Java.
  2. Game Engine Experience: Professional experience with a modern game engine and/or backend, with Unity experience being a plus.
  3. Complex System Understanding: Understanding and navigating complex systems, both in the form of code and game designs.
  4. Technical and Design Challenges: Identifying and resolving technical and design challenges.
  5. Performant Code Writing: Writing performant code, based on a solid foundational knowledge of memory management and algorithmic complexity.
Bonus Requirements
  1. Large-Scale Online Multiplayer Games: Developing large-scale online multiplayer games, ideally from concept to release.
  2. ECS Architectures: Working with ECS architectures (Unity DOTS or equivalent).
  3. Network APIs: Implementing and consuming network APIs (REST, gRPC, etc.).
  4. Distributed Systems: Working with distributed systems, especially actor frameworks (Akka, Orleans, etc.).
  5. Operational Responsibilities: Ensuring the stability and reliability of the game, and taking ownership of operational responsibilities instead of deferring them to the platform teams.
  6. Modern Web UI Frameworks: Experience with modern web UI frameworks (makes it easier to learn EvolveUI).
