We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Regulations Manager to join our Wholesale and Gas Trading Division at Repsol. As a key member of our Global Compliance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of compliance-related risks and the development of policies and internal controls to mitigate these risks.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement policies and internal controls to ensure compliance-related risks are sufficiently mitigated, and continually improve the Trading Compliance program and internal control structure.
- Monitor and review trading activities to detect potential non-compliance events, and support the operation of trade surveillance activities to prevent, detect, and investigate possible manipulative activities, policy violations, and/or other trading anomalies.
- Manage third-party risks, liaise with corporate functions such as Legal, Audit, Risk, etc. to support initiatives as needed, and develop a deep understanding of Repsol's front-to-back office trading processes.
- Perform third-party due diligence activities, including understanding and monitoring international sanctions regimes and advising the business on other third-party risks.
- Develop operational compliance tools, including policies and procedures, internal checklists, roles & responsibilities charts, etc.
- To properly assess Compliance, have a knowledge of current gas and energy sector regulations in Spain and Europe, and be knowledgeable of main regulators, associations, and players in the Gas Sector in Spain and Europe.
- As this is a project-based and product-based job, be able to simultaneously manage multiple projects that have never been done before, collaborate in a very cross-functional environment, and execute in an agile fashion.
- Be able to create value without any prior template or instruction, envision, design, and execute successful projects and products.
- Communicate effectively with the business-level fluency in English, as well as that in Spanish, be comfortable with executive communication and public speaking, and can 'get things done' through others.
- Can be multidisciplinary and use different skillsets to solve problems holistically in a variety of activities including for example: monitoring regulations, designing policies and controls, creating and delivering training content, frequently presenting to executives, and working with large data sets.
- Understanding of complex energy physical and financial trading.
- 3+ years industry experience in a similar position and/or level of responsibility.
