Join Our Team as a Director of Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our Observability SRE group. As a key member of our Engineering organization, you will be responsible for providing observability across our entire stack and driving innovation in the observability product space.

Our team is responsible for tackling the unique challenges of observability at Datadog, including the vast scale, complexity, and critical importance of our platform. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact and solve novel technical problems.

As a Director of Engineering, you will build and operate teams responsible for Datadog's internal observability experience, configuration, and systems. Your objective will be to meet the company's reliability and operational excellence goals.

You will also build deep partnerships across engineering and product management to influence a fast-growing product space. At Datadog, we value our office culture and operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building the roadmap and direction for Internal Observability at Datadog
  • Working on building a sustainable organization that can take on the ownership of critical systems required to deploy and maintain our observability stack
  • Collaborating with Program Managers and Product Managers to lead dogfooding initiatives
  • Advocating for Datadog to be customer 0 and state-of-the-art in leveraging innovative solutions driven from a SRE and Security perspective
