Job Title: Cost Management Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Specialist to join our pre-opening team at SLS Barcelona, a five-star urban resort of extraordinary experiences. As a key member of our Finance department, you will support the financial operations of the hotel while managing hotel assets and ensuring a centralized accounting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and record goods deliveries, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
  • Record of Food and Beverage (FB) costs into the General Ledger System, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Adhere to all cost control procedures, creating new procedures as necessary to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
  • Update costings, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with documentation/authorisation processes, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Process FB accruals, monitoring inventories of FB to increase inventory turnover.
  • Participate in month-end reporting procedures in relation to FB stock and other tasks.
  • Carry out weekly stock takes and evaluating potentials, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Help with and maintain purchasing agreements, ensuring seamless procurement processes.
  • Maintain purchase system and ensure all items are up to date, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Check and verify all reconciled inventory reports with book balance, actual count, and unit costs.
  • Troubleshoot any discrepancies, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Prepare and submit cost reports, daily, monthly, and yearly, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field.
  • +2 years of experience in a hotel's accounting department.
  • Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have a high-level attention to detail.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Takes ownership of important issues, solves problems, and makes effective decisions.
  • Leads quickly and adapts to SLS's unique culture.
  • Is humble and open to ideas.
