About the Role

As a key member of Amazon Spain Services, S.L.U., you will play a critical role in the construction process, ensuring the safe, on-time, and in-budget execution of projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in implementing facility network infrastructure, including sortation centers, delivery stations, and auxiliary buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the implementation and management of Amazon's safety programs and standards with the entire project team.
  • Manage multiple mid and large-sized projects simultaneously, ensuring that the skills and competencies of contract labor are appropriate to undertake the work.
  • Operate independently in the assigned region, interacting with leadership and stakeholders to resolve issues and act as an Amazon internal construction specialist.
  • Comprehensively forecast the project budget and schedule, advising Amazon stakeholders on the impact of timing, cost, and permitting changes.
  • Identify and solve for factors that may impede a successful project hand-over to Amazon stakeholders, interfacing and coordinating with local authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide comprehensive and timely communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
A Day in the Life

As a Construction Manager, your daily tasks may include:

  • Site management: coordination with contractors on projected changes and project status.
  • Ensuring contractors meet contractual obligations and seeking sustainable, environmentally-friendly solutions throughout the construction process.
  • Negotiating contract terms with vendors and driving partners to meet or exceed agreed-to schedules and budgets.
  • Participating in weekly Architect, Owner, and Contractor (AOC) meetings and providing input on root causes and corrective actions.

Requirements
  • Completed Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a comparable field.
  • Fluency in Spanish language.
  • Experience as an Engineer, Construction Manager, or other Construction-related disciplines in one or more EU countries.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Negotiating construction, procurement, and labor contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Experience inclusive of Facilities Manager or similar.
  • Demonstrated capability in the planning, design review & implementation, and project management / control of new structures & the enhancement of existing facility buildings.
  • German, French, Polish, Arabic, and Turkish are considered preferred qualifications.
