The Operations Department at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center is seeking a highly skilled High-Performance Computing Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the continuous daily functioning of our supercomputers and remote access for users worldwide.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux systems, parallel programming models, and experience with HPC resources. You will work closely with our User Support and applications consultant group to monitor and optimize application performance, as well as develop new solutions to improve the user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve user incidents and assist with application development for efficient use of computational resources
  • Collaborate with the User Support and applications consultant group to monitor and optimize application performance
  • Develop new solutions to improve the user experience using HPC resources
  • Create automated solutions to facilitate the day-to-day work of the team

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience: Linux systems, parallel programming models, and HPC resources
  • Desirable Knowledge: MySQL, Python, and Bash scripting
