Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC) is seeking a highly skilled High Performance Computing Specialist to join our Operations Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing and adapting scientific application codes to new pre-exascale architectures and systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in high-performance computing, with experience in optimizing and porting applications to UNIX-based systems, as well as expertise in parallel programming languages such as Fortran, C, MPI, and OpenMP.
The Exascale Applications Support Engineer will work closely with our team to improve the performance of existing parallel codes, improving serial efficiency and scalability, and collaborating with external partners to support and develop new applications.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in computer science or a related field, with a strong understanding of Linux environments and shell scripting, as well as experience working with parallel programming codes and performance analysis tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize and adapt scientific application codes to new pre-exascale architectures and systems.
- Improve the performance of existing parallel codes, improving serial efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate with external partners to support and develop new applications.
Requirements:
- PhD in computer science or a related field.
- Strong background in high-performance computing.
- Experience in optimizing and porting applications to UNIX-based systems.
