We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping Essity's AI strategy and driving innovation across the organization.

We are looking for a leader who embodies our values, is passionate about AI, and has a strong business acumen. If you are a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive AI adoption and innovation.
  2. Develop and implement a strategic vision for AI initiatives across the organization.
  3. Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team.
  4. Strategic Leadership: Refine and implement a strategic vision for AI initiatives across the organization.
  5. Identify opportunities for AI application and align them with our overall strategy.
  6. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Work closely with the Essity AI Council, IT, analytics, data science, and business teams.
  7. Facilitate communication, resolve conflicts, and drive AI adoption.
  8. Knowledge Sharing: Establish the AI Centre of Excellence as a hub for best practices.
  9. Organize training sessions, workshops, and external interactions to promote learning.
  10. Governance and Compliance: Ensure AI initiatives comply with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  11. Align with our Beliefs and Behaviors as an ethical guardrail.
  12. Innovation and Research: Stay updated on AI developments and explore innovative opportunities.
  13. Engage with thought leaders and industry publications.
  14. Team Management: Lead a team of four direct reports.
  15. Foster a culture of innovation and provide necessary resources.
  16. Performance Metrics: Establish key metrics to evaluate the AI Centre's success.
  17. Regularly report to senior management and stakeholders.
  18. Strategic Activities outside AI: Participate in strategic activities within IT Strategy and Business Technology leadership.

Requirements:

  1. Over 10 years of experience across various business functions.
  2. Strong business acumen.
  3. Familiarity with underlying technologies (Data Science, ML).
  4. You understand the full value chain of a company like Essity.
  5. Passionate, self-driven, and purpose-oriented.
  6. A leader who motivates teams and executes visions.
  7. Excellent communicator, especially with top management.
  8. Trustworthy and diplomatic, building strong stakeholder relationships.
  9. Skilled in organizational management and translating insights into outcomes.
  10. Technologically savvy with strategic thinking abilities.
  11. Direct involvement in digital transformation, analytics, and new business models.
