Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Water Governance and Sustainability Specialist to join our team in the Mediterranean region. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing water-related projects, promoting good water governance practices, and advocating for sustainable water management policies.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to our mission of ensuring that freshwater systems support biodiversity and human needs by 2030. As a Water Governance and Sustainability Specialist, you will:
- Develop and implement water-related projects in collaboration with thematic lines managers at IUCN Med and key stakeholders in the region.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to promote good water governance practices and advocate for sustainable water management policies.
- Link different economic sectors with a focus on agriculture, facilitating the uptake and implementation of IUCN knowledge products and standards into water projects and ecosystems.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, water resources management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in water governance, sustainability, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
Benefits
IUCN offers a competitive salary package, including a gross salary of approximately €40,000 - €50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer a range of benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
