Research and Development Engineer for Power Transformers

**Job Title:** Power Transformer Research and Development Specialist

**About the Role:** We are seeking a highly skilled Power Transformer Research and Development Specialist to join our team at Hitachi Energy. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for driving the development of new technologies, products, and processes for power transformers.

**Responsibilities:**
- Propose and develop new technologies, products, and processes for power transformers.
- Lead and manage R&D projects self-driven on time, on budget, and with the required quality following Hitachi Energy internal standards and processes.
- Maintain existing and develop new technical standards and design tools for transformers.
- Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications and/or participating in educational programs.
- Assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement.
- Support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise.

**Requirements:**
- MS or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
- More than 3 years of experience, either in R&D projects, engineering or University research.
- Knowledge in CAD modelling software (CREO, Solidworks, Solidedge).
- Experience with advanced numerical simulations (e.g. fluid dynamics, mechanical simulations), proficiency in use of commercial simulations tools (e.g. Ansys, Fluents, CREO) and implementation of own solutions shall be well valued.
- Knowledge in 3D printing techniques.
- Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Structured, problem-solving, self-driven, solutions-oriented approach.
- Strong communication skills.
- Spirit of innovation, out of the box thinking.
- Fluent spoken and written English and Spanish.
